Movie: From Food to Freedom
From Food to Freedom follows a powerful live-in immersion program run by PlantPure Communities in Greensboro, North Carolina, where six participants living with Type 2 Diabetes—along with two spouses—commit to transforming their health. Through deeply personal stories, we witness their struggles with chronic illness and the emotional toll it takes, as they shift from a standard Western diet to a whole-food, plant-based way of eating.
As the journey unfolds, the film captures remarkable and often unexpected health improvements, while exploring broader themes of nutrition, chronic disease, immunity, and the COVID-19 era. Inspiring and thought-provoking, From Food to Freedom points to the wider potential of food as a foundation for healing—suggesting that these principles may extend well beyond a single diagnosis—while charting a hopeful pathway for people wanting to live free of disease and costly pharmaceuticals.
